The Walking Trees Collective
The Walking Trees - Shedding Skin
Walking Trees Collective’ was founded by Fin and Sophie. Through participatory arts, we explore some of the most pressing ecological questions of our time. Since 2022, Walking Trees Collective has been facilitating community gatherings (or ‘wander-wonders’ as we like to call them) to explore green spaces and waterways in London and beyond as spaces of quiet blue and green resistance. Our walks engage with the historical, social and ecological themes of each space. We harness the power and sensitivity of meditation, drawing, poetry, journaling and movement for participants to form deeper attentive connections with all that’s growing around them.
We would like to offer a 2 hour ecological art workshop in the glade at the end of Little Park. Beginning with an embodied warm up we will invite participants on a journey of attention and recognition of all that grows and flows around them. Focussing on a central theme of shedding skin to align with Elemental Temple's sacred serpents, we will invite people on a journey of letting go of old ways and inviting in new and revitalised energetic connections. Participants will be led on a meditative journey to ease them into a state of connection and renewed perception with the more-than-human world around them. We will drive in to the magic of our imaginations to rethink our relationships with the trees, river and sky. Art materials will be provided to draw and journal. No previous art experience necessary. The workshop will draw to a close around a big sharing. All are welcome 🙏
